Southern Alps, South Island

Sometimes I get concerned that when I talk about the sheer presence of the Southern Alps Mountain range, and the distances and and times of getting from A to B, people think I exagarate…

I like this photograph because the horizon is just full of snow capped mountains. And it’s late summer.

The air is so clear here in New Zealand that colours are so much more vibrant and mix so readily that it becomes a riot of complex shades of colour and lustre. Marvellous
