Sunset, Te Hapu, South Island

Limestone formations form sporadically along the upper West Coast. Te Hapu coastline is a good example of a limestone deposit that has been gradually eroded. Ancient cliffs have been washed away by the waves to form flat shelves just beneath the surface, creating a treacherous reef for the unwary.

But from a landscape photographers point of view, what a dream to capture…
